Today is my last day at my internship. I received tickets to reimage a pc, check the battery on the WOW, and replacing a laptop. I utilize a technique I learned from a co worker named Zack. Before I use to bring one the equipment one at a time, but Zack taught me to kill 2 birds with one stone. Instead of coming back and forth for the equipment I carried it all with me because it was all in the location was close enough to get to. Also, I let Jerry reevaluate my final paper and also my final evaluation. Lastly, when the time came where the employee were all about to leave I went to say good bye to all of them.

Today I had to go fix a scanner gun. While I was working on the scanner I did have some trouble working on it. I tried rebooting the scanner and the computer which did not work. I tried the scanner on a different computer and it worked. I used a different scanner from another computer onto the one I am working on and it didn't work. I thought it was the base of the scanner but then I realize it's not, when I took the whole scanner and tried it on a different computer. So in conclusion I notice that it is the computer itself is having trouble reading the scanner. I conducted that it was the computer PC so I went ahead and reimage the PC. After I reimaged the PC it worked perfectly fine. After the whole scanner issue I was assigned to install a monitor and speakers for a employee in the CSR room. One successful thing that happened today was that employees from Jefferson came into and sit and observe how we operate. As the day went on I was able to go on a ticket with a Jefferson employee and we talked about what each of the hospital do and learn about their operations as well. Lastly, I was able to have my final paper reviewed by Jerry.

Today I was able to go to the a room that surgery is performed. I helped the bio medics to put their computer onto the hospitals domain, and create a auto login profile for them. Bio meds are also part of the technical department but they handle special equipment. After that ticket was done I had to go replace a mouse on a wireless on wheel, and then deliver a laptop to a building called Levy. Lastly, I went back to the 4th floor of widener to install more computers, which were 3 Pc's with monitors keyboard and mice, and a PC with a tiny in it.

Today I was assigned to have a big move to do. At the hospital a place on 4th floor called Widner east. Which is newly renovated, I have to bring up 11 monitors, PC, mice, and keyboards to install. I was able to speak to Jerry about the annual budgets and opportunity to volunteer for Tech Services, but I have yet to hear a response. During my installation of the 11 PC's I realized that there was no hole in the table that will allow the wires to run through. I spoke with Jerry to ask the carpenter to drill holes onto the tables. I was able to mark the spots where the carpenter should be drilling and I set out all the monitors and PC onto the tables but did not wire them until the holes were put in place. While doing so I received tickets to install PC's on 3rd floor of Lenfest which is the opposite side of where I was installing the 11 PC's. I am now experiencing how busy it gets, this is the second consecutive day that I am working non stop. I enjoy that I am able to make a impact at Abington Hospital and providing my assistant to make sure that the nurses who comes in the new office will be comfortable and happy with their computers.

Today is the first time I have done so much work that consumed my time up. I was assigned tasks after tasks. I was told to retrieve a wow, check the battery in the office, bring it down to the market place (area with all the parts), then bring it back to it's original location. I needed to do that for over 5 carts, after that I needed to install a dual lock onto a scanner, then I was assigned to remove monitors off of a proximity which is a case that hold them monitors and PC to contain dust from flying around. While I was removing the monitors I did not have the tools that were needed to remove them. Luckily the place where I have to remove them was under construction so there were construction workers who had the tools. I was able to borrow the tools from them and take the monitors down. Today I was up on my feet moving and grooving, unlike other days where I would spend my time sitting in front of a computer. This is a new experience, the experience of what it is like in the hospital when it gets really busy.

Today something interesting happened, while me and Joe Sartino was trying to fix a log in problem that a employee at the registration was having. Joe was unable to log in to get into the main screen, even as a admin or a local admin. So we took it back to our workstation and he allowed me to give some test tries, I was able to update the PC and log in right after. I figured that Joe was typing the wrong user ID. It was interesting because Joe never had a problem like this before and he called it odd. I was able to help fix that problem and it made me feel that I am adding value to Abington Hospital during my internship. Also, I needed to replace a hard drive in a PC and ship the dysfunctional hard drive back to Lenovo. Another thing I did today was that I received tickets about a ricoh printer and the employee wanted to set a prompt or pass code before a person can scan to a specific folder. As day continued I received another tickets concerning about an employee was missing a batch file and I went online to check out how to mess with a batch file. I learned how to create a batch file and create a simple line of command that will prompt a computer about a message. Then I have to go to the 2nd floor of bureger and remove 7 Pc's, monitors, mouse, keyboard, and label printers. After that I got back to the office and I received another errand to help a coworker to deploy a W.O.W back to the 5th floor of lenfest.

After 8 weeks of the internship I feel comfortable on how the IT department operates. I am very familiar with the objectives that is needed to be done for tickets and services. Some successful things that happened today was to talk to my team lead (Dave) about the ETC printers and computer labeling. I was able to help my co-worker Joe Sortino on handling his tickets, and reimaging and installing sccm, login expert and citrix. Lastly, I was able to help a safety and quality employee to trouble shoot her unsupported browser and installed google chrome for her. When I came back from school at 3:40pm, I assisted Craig on deploying 5 PC's and 2 Tiny PC that is mounted on a monitor. As we was installing the computers we had to change the Ethernet cord because it was all messed up and too short.

Today I received tickets to replace several mice, assembled kronos intouch clocks for future use and heading back to the ETC to fix up some issues. Today was successful because I was so busy time flew by very quick, and it felt like I did not have enough time to finish my tasks. I assembled over 10 kronos clock and placed them back to their original box, so when contractors come they can just grab the clock and install it. I went back to the ETC because Dr.Rubin (the man who requested the fix) had personal changes on how he wants the printer with computers to be labeled. I went back there to make sure all the computers were correctly labeled with a description that will allow nurses or residents to be able to locate the printer when they print a piece of paper.

Today I have to return 6 wireless on wheels to different sections of the hospital. One successful thing that happened today was that I was able to build and installed a docket port scanner in the emergency trauma center. I also build a brand new PC and set up a new PC and monitor in a nurses office. I took all her data from her old PC and transferred it over to a folder that is called data share, then I logged onto her account and pulled all the documents over. Lastly, I have retrieve a very old laptop that was not in use for over 3 years. I have to reimage it, take it off the abington domain, change the name and add it back tot he abington domain. Also, I have to install sccm so it can be remoted in when it is faulty.

I have troubleshooted a ricoh printer, also I have the opportunity to install and configure the IP address, gateway, and subnetmask. Also I troubleshooted a computer called status board, which is a big monitor and monitors all the patients. What I did was to fix the status board so it would have internet access as usual. But due to the power outage last night caused by the thunderstorm, it got messed up. Lastly, I reimaged a computer and gave a nurse a whole new set of hardware. 24'' inch monitor with a newer model PC.

Today I received keys to open up Wireless on Wheels, to fix up tiny's which are mini Pcs.
Wireless on wheels are carts that have a tiny pc in them. They are locked up to prevent it from being stolen. Also today I was assigned a task to fix up over 30 broken old kronos clock and assemble them so they have all the parts to be shipped back and receive credit. I will attach images below.
The top kronos clock is a full assembled clock and on the bottom I am replicating it so it has all the parts that is needed to be given back to the company for credit. I was  told that these each fully assembled kronos clock would give the hospital $100 dollars in credit for each. While the new kronos intouch clock would cost them $4,000 - $5,000 each clock!
It was amazing how expensive these clocks were. There was about 25 kornos clock from all with all pieces and missing pieces. I was able to build up to 10 fully assembled kronos clock to be shipped back for credit.

Today I started at 6:30 AM, and worked till 4:30 PM. As normal days I receive tickets and resolve them. Today I received a different task, I have to remove a monitor off of a arm and get a base so the monitor can sit on the table. Images are shown below.

As you can see in the photo goes from left to right. Monitor was mounted and I dismounted it. It required some tools and carefully remove it so the monitor would not fall straight to the ground.

Today I have to go into the Operations room to replace a mouse. It was a new experience because I must have to suit up before entering. There was miscommunication on the service desk side, having to give me instructions to go to OR room 12. When I went there they said they did not ask for a mouse so I head back down to the office. Then I received a call saying I went to the wrong room and the room suppose to be hybrid OR room 12. Which is 2 doors down with no room number, but I was able to replace it at the end. Overall today I am trying to tweak the ticketing system to make it even more better than it is. Lastly, I was able to show a contractor from "EXCEL" (an outside company that does all the installation and cabling) how to build a Koronos intouch clock so they will be able to do a test of building 47 of the clocks.

Today was interesting, I was able to fix up two PCs. I received tickets that were a little complicated such as, nurse wants me to to move a PC to a new location. But the new location does not have an extra Ethernet port. So She has to call network to create a port for her, which I felt bad because she was very excited to have the computer moved. The second issue I had today was to fix a kronos clock, apparently the port was a little broken, and when I finally solve the problem on getting power over Ethernet(POE), I realized that the battery was broken off. While I was working with this port I networking employee named Terry was showing me that the port works. Also he talked about the roles that he do as a Tech Services. I continued and asked him how long he have been working with the network. He worked with a networking company called nevil before Microsoft came and wipe the company out. He seems really intelligent and the things that he do was really meaningful and interesting to the major that I am going for. As of now, I am searching for a job and If I am unable to find one. I plan to intern with Tech Services to gain the concepts and experience that seems useful to me.

Today, one successful thing that happened today was that I had nothing to do so I decided to go over what I've done the previous weeks here. I also heard co-workers getting frustrated because the service desk employees are still assigning the wrong amount of tickets. I went into the program I created and literally revamped it to become more user friendly, also matches the time requirements. Previously it was only 1 single page, Now it is 5 pages. I gathered all the information from employees and set up a program that would work. I am very proud of myself to being able to help the service desk and co-workers to be able to continue their daily jobs. Because each employee has a rotation on being held to work till 5:00pm. Every page has the time when the employee comes in and clocks out. It is labeled by the employee who comes in earliest to the latest. This way the employees from the service desk can just assign tickets going straight down, rather than clicking everywhere. Every week will be a different rotation. All the service desk have to do is alternate the pages every week.

Days are starting to become more and more slow. After Jerry found a new team lead he is very busy training him rather than giving me assignments. I am still unable to be evaluated by Jerry for my Mid term evaluations. I e mailed Jerry for assignments, and asked if he would be able to create some time for me to go over my evaluations. I have not received an response yet, I see him coming to the office to talk to the Dave(new team lead), but after that he leave the room without speaking with me. My plan is when I am able to talk to Jerry, I want to ask him if he can move me to a different department. The one I have in mind is called "Tech Services", because they are the ones who trouble shoot problems when the H.I.S employees could not. I feel like as an intern as a PC analyst I am more like an courier. Bringing PC, and monitors to my fellow Co-Workers. I want to intern for Tech Services for the other half of my internship so I would be able to learn something more of value. I really hope Jerry would approve my request. One successful thing today is that I was able to do some tickets, such as, replacing 4 monitors, assisting co-workers to bring them needed equipment.

Today I continued to work on my estimation project, the new additional items and features that Jerry asked to add was a bit challenging for me. I spent couple of days trying to figure out how to fix the issue. One successful thing about today is I am able to create a receipt that prints out all the selected items. I am almost finished with the project, and when I am done I can talk to Jerry, to show him and ask what is the next project for me to do. Previously I did talk to Jerry about getting an AD account and a Foot Prints account, but judging on the hours I am currently doing would make it a lesser chance that he would create those accounts for me. If I continue working 40 hours a week I would will be finishing up my 300 hours in about 3 weeks. Nothing special about to day, changing broken mice, and rebooting computers to make sure it is functioning properly. Lastly, I helped a employee to set up another dual monitor by inputting the dvi to dport cable.

Lastly, I was told yesterday that I would be evaluated today since I reached 150 hours two days ago. Now Jerry said sometime next week I will be evaluated.      Today was also a slow day. I went back to the ETC to gather up all the computer names and the printer names that needs to be printed to. Then I created a excel spread sheet that will allow tech services to send a group policy much easier. After doing so, I was able to take Dave (new team lead) to a tour in the ETC. That experience was amazing because I am just an intern and have only been interning about 2 months, and I was able to give a tour to a team lead. I spoke with Jerry about the program that I created for his estimates, and he enjoys it very much. He would like to add more products into the program. Also, he gave an idea that after being able to select the products he wants to be able to print the selected items. So starting tomorrow I will figure a way how to create a program that Jerry will enjoy. Today I hit 150 hours, and tomorrow Jerry plans to do the evaluations. I am pretty excited to be evaluated because throughout these 150 hours I was on my A game. I did every things that was given to me. I did all the tickets that was assigned to me. I have finished all that projects that were given to me and currently still asking for more. One success about today was I was able to sit and talk to Jerry about creating me a AD and footprints account which will put me same level as an employee. This way I am able to work and get tickets by the help desk rather than being told what to do every day. Another success was that I was assigned to a new project, which is a continuation of my printer project I did previously. What I did was having the computers print locally, but the nurses needs the printer to be printed in the back end (program using sunrise). So starting tomorrow I will be heading back to the ETC to store all the names of the computer and the specific printer that it will go to.

This is created in google sheets. This listed all the products that Jerry controls with the price of each. What this program does is that if you click on the names of the product, a increment of 1 quantity is entered next the the respective price. I created black lines to ensure that each section is clearly on it's own. At the bottom you can see a subtotal, which is all of the price of the selected items. I created tax also that ranges from 4 to 10. It is a drop down menu that allows the user to select the tax range. The total is the subtotal plus the tax. Lastly, we have a clear button which clears the the quantities, subtotal, tax, and total price.

Today I helped out to clean out printers and making sure that the network cards on the printers are fully functional. Then I tested if the printers are able to print normally and if the feed is good. After that I was emailing a company called scandit for more information about multiple barcodel label scanning, and apparently the case that they sell do not support multiple label. Their main focus is not about storing the barcodes data it was to be able to scan variety barcodes.

On the right is the printer that I was working with, In the middle is running an application called satos to check for network connectivity, and the picture on the right is the network card under the printer.
I also receive multiple tickets today such as, returning wireless on wheel carts to the nurse station, move monitors to set dual monitors with a pc and a dual monitor to a laptop dock. Lastly, I have started the estimation program and it is currently in progress.

Yesterday when I was working on the dual monitors the person who was in charge of the pharmacy was in a rush to go home also he changed the plans. So I had to dissemble them and meet with him today.  I had to set up one single 24" monitor, one dual 19" monitor,  one dual 24'' monitor, and adding one more 24'' monitor to an existing monitor to make it a dual screen. The parts I used were four 24'' monitors, two 19'' monitors, power cords, vga cords, dvi cords, d port - dvi cords. Another successful thing was I was able to find a company that supply hand held scanners that can scan multiple bar code at once. The company is called scandit, a mobile application. I showed it to Jerry and he said he is interested in it. I need to figure out what's the price, how to pull data out of it, and how to purchase it.

I rechecked over 300 computers to make sure all is labeled and the names of the computers that I do not have authorization to are correctly written along with it's location. Lastly, I was assigned a ticket to replace a computer.      Today I came in at 11:00 to work on a project concerning with printers. I have met up with Dr. Rubin to talk about the problem. Apparently he wants me to figure a way how to have each computer to print to a specific printer. So with his idea I manually went on to over 300 computers in the Emergency Trauma Center (ETC) and added the printer and set it as a default for 4 hours. After I added the printers to the computer I also have to label the computer and printer to show user that this computer is printing to that printer. After that I was working on the scanner to scan multiple bar-codes at once. What I figured out was I can make it scan continuously while making sure that the scans does not duplicate. I showed that to Jerry and that is not what he wants, he wanted 1 click to scan all 5 bar codes at once. As I continue my research, Jerry wanted me to go back to the ETC to give directions to the specified printers. With that being said I was assigned to re image a PC, install all the needed updates, change the domain to Abington hospital, and bring it up to a conference room to set it up.

Since I am not able to clock in and out with a system and have to set my own hours, I created a excel sheet that keeps track of my hours and Jerry looks at it but he said he does not like paper form. I asked him to sign it electronically but he said he don't have adobe reader. What he did alternatively was to send a email back saying approved. I hope at the end of the of this internship I would have no complications of not getting my hours. I spent so much time in this internship to get it done and getting experience to not be credited for it. I just have an uneasy feeling about it.

Today I re-imaged a laptop computer and a laptop using a flash drive that has the os and software that is needed when it gets reimaged. I was also assigned a new project to make a cr2600 scanner to scan multiple bar codes in 1 sweep motion. I am currently doing research if that is possible, knowing that it is a scanner I don't think it will read multiple bar codes all at once. Normally it would just scan one item, saves it, then repeat. Also with the printer project I was unable to get a hold of Dr. Rubin to give me more detailed description on what I have to do with the printers. So I went on the the Abington Hospital site to go into the directory and searched up his e-mail. I contacted him through email and I had a quick response. I was able to set up a time where I can go up to his office and understand what was the problem and create a solution for him to solve the printer issue that he was having.

Yesterday I was not in for my internship because I was headed to IST future forums at Penn State University main campus. Jerry was informed a week prior so he knew I was not going to me in. Today I replaced 2 keyboards, and convert and configured a 24'' lenovo dual monitors. Lastly, I received an project to go to a doctors lab to figure out how to manage what computer is printing to what printer. I won't be able to start doing that until Monday when I come back to the internship.

Today Jerry was not in his office today, I have finished all his prior projects and assignments that was handed to me. The next project was to set up dual montiors for a workstation. Tyrone and I went to set it up, as we set the monitors up he was guiding me and telling me what he was doing and why. I received a ticket today to trouble shoot computer as usual, and also removing computers from a office that was no longer in use. Also, I was sent to fix a laptop dock that was not working right. I went to check on it and realize that they are trying to mount the wrong computer onto the mount, so I replaced the mount with the right one. I am seeking for more intense projects that puts me in my grind mode, rather than just doing simple trouble shooting.

Today I also started at 6:30am, I continued working on the configuration document. I was able to go onto the floor myself to go trouble shoot computers. One was the problem with the monitor and the second one was that the computer wouldn't turn on. When I went to the rooms both of the solutions was that the wiring was loose. Another successful thing that happened today was being able to install the new kronos clock onto the wall replacing one of the old one. I took pictures and created a separate document that teach users how to reset the kronos clock. Jerry said it will be put into the help desk database with my name in it forever. That was some news I liked to here, being credited for what I have done. There is one problem I'm having with this employee named Joe W. He was a very pleasant guy when I first met him, and now he's always yelling and act really cranky for some reason. Jerry told me to don't mind him he's like that. I prefer not to stay in the same office with him, if he plans on yelling and being rude to me for questions I ask, or even when I ask if he needs help. I wish Jerry would give me more projects to work on to keep me busy. The comments the employees say after a phone call is so unprofessional. They burst out of frustration and curses out loud.

Some other things I did were assembling scanners and remove the velcro to install 3m dual locks to make it more stable and tight. This  was really basic but it allowed me to do something during my 9.5 hour shift. Below is some images of the scanner.

Today, I went to work at 6:30am in the morning because an employee named Zack said that's the time he normally starts. When I got there no employee came until 7:40am, at the mean time I was reading up on intouch kronos manual. I was learning more on how to configure the settings on a kronos also mounting it on a wall. I learned that POE stands for power over Ethernet. Inside the Intouch there are two small button, one is to reset the machine and the other is to bring it into maintenance mode. I am creating a document on how to configure kronos intouch.

There are some things that concern me as of now, it's the third week and I still did not get an account to do what the help desk are doing. Jerry knows that I don't have an account, I don't know what he is planning if he is getting me an account or not. I am still keeping track of my own hours, I wanted Jerry to sign off on it weekly but he wants to do it monthly and electronically. It kind of worries me that they are not taking me seriously. I am unpaid, hardly being supervised, and they do not even have me clocking in or out for my hours. Another negative thing is that today there was only 2 out of 5 employees working. They were short handed and asked me to assist for picking up phone and helping out on tickets. My response to that of course was "sure", when I asked Joe W if I can do anything to help him, he responded "you can help me by leaving me alone". I am just an intern who is seeking for some experience and helping out the hospital. Being yelled at and doing voluntary work is not what I wanted. I plan to go full time after this week doing 40 hours a week to finish up my 300 hours.

Today, I was working assembling a kronos together. I was also in charge of creating a documentation on how to assemble it. My next assignment was to teach myself how to unmount the old kronos and find the IP address, DNS, and mask gateway numbers to transfer it over to the new intounch kronos. Other than doing the intouch kronos I was also following an employee named Zack. We helped a nurse move her computer into a new office. Also, we went into the room with a rack of ethernet cord. We wired it so the new office would have internet connection. Here are some images I took to create the documentation.

These are the first parts of the new intouch kronos. The document I did was to show steps on how to connect all these pieces together.

This is the first time I was able to do something that interested me. Lastly, I successfully found the cause of the temperature and humidity sensor problem. What I did was unmounted both sensors and brought it closer to the host using shorter Ethernet cords. Later I found out that there was steam coming out from the bottom of the floor. I spoke to Jerry about that and he said that is the cause, because sensors and water don't mix. After that he got some workers to patch up the problem and I was able to remount the sensors back onto the wall. One thing I learn today was fire-stop, which is foam that expands to stop fire or smoke from penetrating.

Today, I was planning to finish up the sensor problem. I did not want to change any wiring without the permission by Jerry(supervisor). Since Jerry did not want to do it yesterday because it was getting late. I planned to do it this morning, and he told me to wait till lunch time. After lunch I went to his office to talk to him but he was chatting to an employee about his hot water pipe at home. Jerry said "Jesse don't stand outside my office with your hands in your pocket, don't you see I'm busy?, get back to work (points his finger to the room)". I was really offended by this because it does not look or sound like he is busy talking to an employee about hot water at home. First I am not being paid for this internship, secondly there is nothing else for me to do besides wait on employees to receive tickets so we can go trouble shoot a computer or hardware. One success I had today is helping an employee named Craig on their project which is to block a specific user from logging in locally in a specific computer. It was his project but he said he did it once but forgot how to. So I researched online and found a solution to do so. Another success is helping another employee named Zack on a ticket about residents having trouble with outlook. I fixed that solution by researching and telling her why exactly the "recall" would not work correctly. The factors are 1. the email is read, 2. the email is moved from the inbox, 3. They do not have outlook on, and 4. They are not registered with a outlook email. Lastly, Jerry gave me another project for the future which is creating a documentation and assembling a new kronos that allows employees to clock in and out.

On 1/18/16 I did not work. Today was a very slow day, not much was done because there was very little tickets that was submitted. We receive ticket when an employee has trouble with their computer or anything related with IT. Besides trouble shooting hardware for employees in Abington Hospital, I was also contacting Sensaphone on how to fix the sensors in the data center. The problem with the sensor is that the room temperature and the humidity degrees on the monitor is changing rapidly, which it should not do. For the most of the day I was having back and forth messaging with the technical support from Sensaphone. The options were bad cables, bad ports, bad host, bad node, or bad sensors. My supervisor said it was getting late so I am unable to continue working on it today. I will be on top of it the first thing I get here tomorrow.

Today I have finished the rotation program that was requested to me. For the rotational program I used google spread sheets and created buttons of employee names and also with macros that allow the employees to click on the button to assign a ticket to a person. There is also a counter right next to buttons so they would know how much  tickets was assigned to one person. I demonstrated it to the employees and they loved it. They said this was the first time a Penn State student actually wrote some code for them. Jerry given me another task to fix two sensors that are mounted on the wall. The sensors are from Sensaphone, IMS-4811 and IMS-4821. I have contacted the manufacturer to seek a fix for this problem. Also there are two offices in the Abington Hospital, Jerry wants me to rotate weekly from each office. I will be starting the sensor project next week.

Today I am still shadowing with my coworker. I follow them around when they receive tickets to go trouble shoot a problem in various rooms in the hospital. One successful thing I've done today is to help my co-worker Joe W to assemble a mini computer, also attaching it with a mount that allows it to have extra usb ports. After we assembled the mini computer I installed an operating system in the mini computer by using a flash drive that automatically boots it. Another success was that I was able to take a lunch break and actually eat at a cafeteria that I have no idea about. After lunch I was able to re image the mini computers and give it back to Jerry so he can do what he needed to it.

Today was same as Monday, I am sitting in an office watching employees sit there waiting for a ticket to go trouble shoot. Still have no received an account to log into computers or getting access to the ticketing system that the employees uses. The office I work in has 3 employees named Joe W, Joe S, and Tyrone. Every time they receive a ticket to go trouble shoot a problem I would go follow them and observe what they do in various situations. Jerry (my supervisor) told me I should shadow with these guys for the first week and see how it is like. He also gave me a task to create a rotational ticketing system that will help the service desk to decide which employee should they send the ticket to. Things are going very slow, I hope I can really be supervised and learn. Some of the successes I had today was being able to understand some abbreviations they use, such as, C.O.W that means Computer On Wheels. These are portable computers that are used for nurses to pull up patients information quickly. As I took many trips around the hospital I am starting to know my way around the hospital.

On the 11th was my first day of my internship. I received my ID badge and I was also given access to data centers. There are few successes such as meeting co-workers and understanding that there is no conflict between us. At first I felt like there would be a lot for me to learn, but as I talk to the employees more and more I realize they are getting more dependent on me. I thought I was in a paid internship, but when I kept hearing my supervisor (Jerry) talk about volunteering and telling me to talk to the volunteer office about my hours, I realized it was an unpaid internship. I was expecting to be paid and ready to work. Although I am not getting paid I am still ready to work and put my efforts in, but I don't want to feel that I am being taken advantage of. It really stressed me out because I am a senior with a student loan debt. I was hoping this internship will help lessen the burden. I also spent money just to get uniform that would be appropriate for this job. My first day I did not really learn much just sit in a office and watch the employees work, and follow then as they go trouble shoot computers. All the work the employees are currently doing is exactly what I did back when I was working at State College as a Lab Consultant. Lastly, I did not even receive an actual account to work as a trouble shooter nor a login account into the computers. If I am not getting paid for this internship I really wish it would at least teach me something by the end of it.
